This is a second post in collaboration with Bath and Unwind – read on to find out how I got on with this 50+ SPF daily moisturiser!
Alpha H Daily Essential Moisturiser – Bath and Unwind (*)
Well, summer has heaved its last sigh and we’re being treated to the crisp misty mornings and cool evenings of autumn. As the weather changes, it’s important to change up your skincare routine too, to adapt to the way in which your complexion will inevitably change over the winter months. One thing you need to keep consistent, however, is SPF protection.
If you’ve got a milky white complexion like mine, you’ll know how easy it is to develop a full face of freckles in the most minimal amount of sunlight. However cute though, freckles are a sign of sun damage, and it’s always good to work an essential SPF into your daily skincare routine.
Luckily for me, I was kindly sent this 50SPF moisturiser by Alpha H by Bath and Unwind to test out. As you might expect from such a high level of protection, the texture of the cream is quite thick and creamy, which I was initially concerned about, but it sinks into the skin really quickly.
Sadly though, this is where the problems I had with this particular product started. For one reason or another, my skin just didn’t get on with this – I’ve always had quite oily skin and this is a really nourishing rich moisturiser. After applying it daily for a week or so I had to put powder on top because it wasn’t quite sinking all the way in, and even that had to blot my greasy little mush throughout the day!
It’s a real shame because there are dozens of reviews on the website from people who swear by this product. All of Alpha H’s other products look and sound amazing, so maybe my greasy face might get on a bit better with one of those!
The product was gifted for purpose of review but all opinions are my own. A huge thanks to Bath & Unwind for the ongoing collaboration!
