This Weekend

Well, this weekend has been nothing short of magical. There’s something special about when the sun finally peeps out from behind that thick grey curtain it’s been hiding behind all winter; Bristol happens to look splendid in the sunshine, too, which means lots of adventuring has been has this weekend.

Saturday morning’s glorious sunshine was spent at the Arnolfini for the Bristol Artisan Market, a collection of makers from all over the South West showcasing their wares. A particular highlight was finally trying out the magical Bakemonger – look at those cakes!

After that it was soaking up rays in the most Bristolian fashion – sitting on the harbourside with a tin of lager from the corner shop. Perfect.

More beers were consumed on the way home of course – I mean, you have to break up the bike ride home somehow eh?

I took a trip up to the Wills Memorial building on Saturday evening to marvel at Luke Jerram’s latest work – a ginormous model of the moon, suspended in the air in the cavernous interior of the splendid Great Hall. I adore anything space-related, so appreciated the opportunity to geek out at the incredible detail of the NASA imagery.

I am writing this sat in Bristol Airport because my weekend adventuring hasn’t quite finished yet – I’m off to Amsterdam! Things might be a little quiet on the blog and social front for the next few days, but I’m sure I’ll have lots of pictures of bikes and pancakes to share when I get back. 👍
