Every once in a while, it’s important to take the time to treat yo’self. Especially if you’ve been having a crappy few weeks like I have – I was loooong overdue a pampering session. Last week I popped down to Easton to see Sasha, the lovely lady behind Balanced Beauty Bristol. I’d been Insta-stalking her for a while, and always inspired by her beautiful images and passion for natural beauty. She’d invited me down for a relaxing facial, and I definitely couldn’t say no to that!

Sasha works from her treatment room in Easton, just a stone’s throw from the train station. She’s got a beautiful space overlooking her lovely little garden, and uses her expertise and bags of experience to offer a range of indulgent natural beauty treatments using gorgeous organic products from local makers Faith & Betty.

I settled down on her lovely heated bed (OMG can I have one at home please?!) and was ready to drift away…

The treatment was a facial, but was in fact more like a whole-body treat. As well as focusing on my complexion, in particular my lymph-nodes to encourage healthy drainage (sounds odd, but it’s a thing!), Sasha also massaged my arms and legs, and my stiff stressed little shoulders, which was positively dreamy. The combination of the wonderful natural products and massage made me so relaxed that I’m convinced I nodded off at one point (ooooops!) and left me in a giddy state of tranquil relaxation for hours afterwards.

During the facial Sasha soothed my skin with treats from Faith & Betty – a range which she developed with the local makers to tailor to the needs of her treatments. Every single product she used smelt absolutely divine, and once massaged into my skin left it beautifully soft and feeling nourished.

My skin is quite weird at the moment – I haven’t quite grown out of my adolescent phase of getting spots, but it feels really dry in the winter. I was a little nervous at first because a lot of the treatments used felt very heavy on the skin, but in actual fact oil is essential for healthy sebum production, so using products containing oil if you’ve got oily skin is actually helping, not hindering. In the week after my facial my skin has definitely been a lot clearer.

I’m already planning my next visit to Sasha as I write this! If you’re local to the Bristol area then I can’t recommend her enough – and don’t forget to follow her beautiful Instagram!

I was invited along for this lovely facial for purpose of this review, but all words and opinions are my own.
